MH&W International announces the availability of TDK EFD Cores to its line-up of flat pack cores. 15 years ago, TDK developed the EPC core line to serve the need of DC/DC converters requiring low profile transformers. Today we are adding to the EPC line the EFD line of ferrite cores in the most popular sizes of EFD15 – EFD20 – EFD25. The materials that are available are the newer, more advanced materials PC95 and PC47. In addition to the ferrite cores, MH&W also has contracted with a bobbin supplier for a line of bobbins and clips for these EFD cores to provide a complete package.

As we woke up on the morning of March 11th, 2011, and saw the news of the devastating earthquake in Japan, our thoughts immediately went to our TDK family in Japan as well as the entire country of Japan. As you know, MH&W has been the exclusive supplier of TDK ferrites in North America since 1964. With that said, you can imagine the personal relationships we have fostered over the years. As our friends and colleagues in Japan continue to recover and rebuild, let us take this opportunity to thank you on their behalf for the outpouring of support.
We have been working closely with TDK to address the effect of the earthquake and tsunami on our customers and partners, and to better understand any potential interruption to the availability of our ferrite supply to North America.
We were relieved to learn that all TDK people in Japan are accounted for and are safe. Furthermore, since TDK’s key manufacturing site for ferrite components is now located in Xiamen China, far from any destruction of the earthquake or tsunami, there has been no disruptions to our component supplies.
Communications with you remains a priority of MH&W International. We will continue to provide timely and updated information as we know more.
Until now, in addition to the immediate damage caused by the earthquakes and tsunami in Japan, the depth and comprehensiveness of the full effects for the country of Japan are still uncertain due to the subsequent chain reactions of the aftershocks, nuclear power plant disruptions, power shortages, and damages to the transportations infrastructures. We ask that you, our customers and partners, along with the MH&W family, continue keeping your thoughts for the people of Japan during this crisis.
